In the small village of Tismice, Czech Republic, is this uniquely preserved three-nave Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Built in the 12th century, this small Basilica ranks among the most valuable examples of preserved Romanesque ecclesiastical architecture in Bohemia.
From the exterior, the church has three apses and two forefront steeples with Baroque roofs. On the inside, the naves are separated by alternating pillars and columns, and the once light brown sandstone walls have changed into reddish hues over the centuries. On the main alter sits a Gothic Madonna statue from 1420 — the biggest treasure of this Basilica.
