Miramare Castle was commissioned in 1856 by Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian of Hapsburg. The styling reflects his eclectic taste and incorporates elements of Gothic, Medieval, and Renaissance styles, as was popular at the time. This tour of the second floor show visitors an example of a luxurious aristocratic residence with its original furnishings. The chapel may be small, but it is richly decorated with woodwork, paintings, and a tiled floor. From its perch overlooking the harbour of Grigano, outside of Trieste, Italy, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area.
