Unassuming from the front, this 10,000 square foot club is one of the premier music venues in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Verboten is the permanent home of an underground dance music party that used move from house to house all over New York City and beyond. The space used to be a metalworking shop, and some of the industrial details have been retained. Check out the video walls, skylights, and the dance floor, which is build from wood reclaimed from a warehouse once belonging to Thomas Edison. The Cabaret Bar, a quieter space next to the dance floor, serves creative cocktails and decadent food when you need a break from dancing.
