Pricing information for the MatterPak™ Bundle can be found under the Additional Products & Services section in the Matterport Price List.
MatterPak™ Bundle purchases are billed to your next upcoming invoice using the default payment method that's on file.
Note the following information before you order the MatterPak™ Bundle:
MatterPak™ Bundles are not available for Free plans.
Your scan must have been taken with a supported camera or smartphone capture, or be an imported 360° spherical image. The better the camera you use, the better mesh quality you'll capture, which translates to a higher quality MatterPak™.
You'll get the best quality from scans taken with a Matterport Pro3, Pro2, Pro2 Lite, Pro, or Leica BLK360 G1 camera.
The MatterPak™ Bundle is for architects, engineers, and construction professionals who want to import these assets into 3D third-party programs (such as 3ds Max, ReCap, or Revit), perform additional work, and then offer as part of a commercial package to their clients. For example:
Architects and engineers can use the point cloud to quickly create an as-built model and jump-start their designs.
Construction professionals can use the ceiling plan and floor plan images for documentation/verification and building turnover packages, or use the point cloud as a part of the QA/QC process.
For assistance on how to import the files, convert the files, or use the files within the third party program, or to check if these are the right files for your use-case, please contact the specific 3D third-party program's support team. For example, to use the MatterPak™ Bundle with AutoCAD, you need to first use Autodesk Recap to convert the .XYZ file into an .RCS (single scan) or .RCP (project) file, which you can then import into AutoCAD. The MatterPak is a high-quality export of what users see in Dollhouse mode. It's not a photo-realistic 3D file, because that experience is provided by projecting panoramas. The better the camera you use, the better mesh quality you'll capture, which translates to better accuracy. You'll get the best quality from scans taken with a Matterport Pro3, Pro2, Pro2 Lite, Pro, or Leica BLK360 G1 cameras. Learn more about accuracy in a Matterport Space. Ceiling plan and floor plan (named "Color plan" within the bundle) images contain a scale legend. The MatterPak™ Bundle is created from your Matterport model, so even if there are misalignments in your model, we will create the MatterPak and it will match what the model shows.
For MatterPaks generated by Synthesized or Hybrid Depth sources that use 360° imagery and our Cortex AI with deep learning models to estimate depth, Matterport does not guarantee the accuracy of the generated point cloud or mesh files. This includes spaces captured with:
360° cameras such as the Ricoh Theta Z1 or Insta360 ONE X2.
Capturing with an iOS or Android smartphone that does not have a lidar sensor. Smartphone capture using Matterport Axis effectively helps create 360° spherical imagery similar to that with a dedicated camera.
Hybrid Depth Sources. Hybrid Depth is provided by iOS devices with lidar like the iPhone 13 Pro or recent iPad Pro models. When capturing a space with the iOS device lidar sensor, a narrow horizontal band of active depth data is measured by the lidar sensor. The remaining depth data outside of this window is synthesized from imagery, just like with a 360° camera or a non-lidar smartphone capture.
To download a MatterPak™ Bundle:
Log in to Matterport Cloud (my.matterport.com).
Select the space you want to order a MatterPak™ bundle from.
When the space opens in Showcase, click the Add-Ons tab, then click the MatterPak card.
Click the Purchase button to purchase your MatterPak.™ You can also click on Download Sample to download a Matterport Pro2 sample MatterPak.™ After you purchase it, it might take between 10 and 15 minutes for the MatterPak™ to be created.
If your Purchase button is not active, have an administrator enable MatterPak™ Bundle for purchase via Settings > Add-Ons.
Further information
Each MatterPak™ Bundle purchase is a-la-carte, similar to Schematic Floor Plans. Your Usage bill reflects all purchases from the previous month. The Account Owner or Billing Contact can check purchases on the Usage page within Settings on my.matterport.com.
After you purchase it, it might take between 10 and 15 minutes for the MatterPak™ to be created. After that, the Purchase button will become a Download button. Any administrator and collaborator with editor access for that Space can download the bundle as many times as desired from the Media tab (see below). Each time you click Download, the zip folder will download to your local computer. Users can continue to download existing purchases, even if the setting is disabled for future MatterPak™ Bundle purchases at the account level.
If you want to convert the MatterPak™ .XYZ file into a format you can use in AutoCAD, follow either of these instructions to do so:
These instructions go through how to use ReCap Pro to convert an .XYZ file into a .RCP file.
These instructions explain how to use AutoCAD Map 3D to import .XYZ data.
You might be wondering how window, mirror, and trim markings affect the MatterPak .XYZ file:
Points behind window, mirror, or trim markings are removed.
No points are added on the window or mirror itself.
This means that anything visible outside a window before you add the marking will not appear in your point cloud.
Additionally, the window itself will not have any points in the point cloud.
