Marketing Veteran Joins Matterport to Spearhead APAC and EMEA Growth Initiatives

Former Citigroup and Visa exec Pan brings 20 years of experience in building brands, launching innovative solutions and establishing strategic partnerships across APAC

SUNNYVALE, Calif. / Singapore — Matterport, Inc., the leading spatial data company driving the digital transformation of the built world, today announced Vivian Weiying Pan has joined Matterport as Vice President of International Marketing, based in Singapore. She will lead marketing growth initiatives across APAC and EMEA to support the rapid expansion across those regions.

In February, Matterport announced a proposed business combination with Gores Holdings VI (NASDAQ: GHVI, GHVIU, and GHVIW) ("Gores Holdings VI"), a special purpose acquisition company sponsored by an affiliate of The Gores Group, LLC. Upon closing of the proposed transaction, the combined company intends to remain listed on NASDAQ under the ticker symbol "MTTR." 

Before joining Matterport, Pan managed marketing efforts for large scale Fortune 500 businesses and global brands across technology and payments, consumer packaged goods, financial services, including Unilever, Citigroup and Visa. She spent a decade with Visa most recently as VP of Marketing for Southeast Asia, in charge of one of APAC’s fastest growing market clusters to drive market expansion, accelerate business growth, create client and customer value and enhance brand equity. She was also recently named as one of the Top 50 CMOs in China by R3.

Founded in 2011, Matterport has defined the spatial data category for the built world with its market-leading spatial data platform that transforms any space into an accurate and immersive digital twin. The company has extended its market reach beyond residential real estate to include multifamily and commercial real estate; architecture, engineering and construction (AEC); retail; insurance and restoration; travel and hospitality; and facilities management. Matterport primarily operates under a recurring revenue Software as a Service model, growing its subscriber base by more than 500% in 2020.

Prior to joining Visa, Pan served as Head of Marketing for Citibank and Citigroup China and led the team in achieving rapid regional expansion, customer innovation and product launches, customer acquisition optimization, customer success initiatives, the launch of Citi online banking, and Corporate Social Responsibility program growth. These initiatives attracted numerous awards to establish Citi’s brand equity in China. Prior to Citibank, Pan worked in marketing at Unilever to expand operations across China. Vivian Pan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business Administration from Shanghai University, and an Executive MBA degree from China European International Business School.
