Meta AI and Matterport have collaborated on the release of the largest-ever 3D dataset of indoor spaces made up of accurately-scaled residential and commercial spaces.

Who’s it for?

This dataset is for academic, non-commercial purposes only. Academic researchers can use Matterport’s spatial data to further advance innovation in multiple areas, one of which includes Embodied AI, the study of intelligent systems with a physical or virtual embodiment. In addition, please cite the dataset in any research papers that are written and reference it.

Accessing the dataset

The dataset consists of 3D Meshes and Textures of 1,000 Matterport spaces and includes:

  • 3D Mesh File (OBJ & GLB)

  • JPG texture map image files

  • MTL file

Access and use of the dataset are subject to the following Terms & Conditions.To access:

  1. Sign up for a free Matterport account. Click to begin.

  2. Once logged into your Matterport account, click your name at the upper right corner, and select Settings.

  3. Select Developer Tools.

  4. Under Habitat - Matterport 3D Research Dataset, select Request Access and complete the form.
