Real estate industry braces for virtual reality changes


From Greenwich and New Canaan to Westchester County and the Berkshires, William Pitt, the largest Sotheby’s International Realty affiliate, uses a 3-D camera developed by the Silicon Valley-based Matterport to help its agents interact with potential homebuyers.

For the last month, Martha Perry, an agent with William Pitt in New Canaan, has brought her listings to life using the technology.

“It allows you to experience the house in its most meaningful way,” she said. “It’s almost like looking at a model of house — you can see how each room intersects with the other.
