Our newest trade partner, Caprikon Group, is making a major impact in Hong Kong with its highly rated education program, Caprikon Education.

Traditionally, cross-border students had to overcome significant obstacles in trying to learn and use on-premise computer software at school after class. Now, with Matterport’s technology and Caprikon’s deep experience in the education market, all students will have access to AI and VR cloud-enabled education opportunities.

"Students can learn anytime and teachers can teach anywhere," explains Tim Lee, co-founder and COO of Caprikon. "All of this helps to create more possibilities for flexible learning environments across the Greater Bay Area."

The team at Caprikon Education explains that with Matterport, they can collectively grow the underserved education market, where there's an increasing need to create immersive tours and showcase school grounds.

Not only can Matterport’s 3D digital twins be used to welcome more prospective and current students to explore the halls of their school, but they can also be leveraged as an asset in the classroom. Primary and secondary school students are now able to develop their very own VR experiences by leveraging Matterport’s 3D digital twins and Caprikon Education’s VR development course. Students are not just enjoying immersive environments — they’re becoming the creators too.

"STEM education is a challenging topic, because it’s constantly evolving and it’s difficult for teachers to constantly learn new technologies and make it teachable," says the CEO of Caprikon, Dylan Kwan. “But with Matterport cameras and software, not only can we teach VR effectively in schools, it is also being used to support the lack of options for travel and shared experiences brought on by COVID. Students are delighted by the many wonderful VR applications of Matterport, which they experience first hand. Teachers are surprised by just how easy it is to teach about emerging technologies with Matterport and Caprikon Education’s program.”

With Matterport’s partnership program and the support of the Hong Kong Education Bureau, Caprikon Group is confident in its mission to transform how students learn and interact with technology across the Greater Bay Area.

“With Matterport, learning and teaching AI and VR is suddenly much easier and more interesting for students,” concludes Kwan. “The partnership between Matterport and Carikon will help Hong Kong to reinvent itself as the region works to find its place in the fourth industrial revolution."
