Gaze out at the glorious scenery in Long Island from the the historic Kenjockety estate

Kenjockety is a historical estate designed in the early 1920s located in Long Island, New York. It was captured by Kevin Hand, real estate agent with Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty and digital marketing specialist of Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace. Now, visitors from anywhere can virtually climb the grand staircase, admire the hidden rooms, and enjoy the colorful foliage and lake views.

What inspired the 3D capture of this space? 

Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty has a marketing program of exceptional properties called the Masterpiece Collection. I’ve been able to scan some pretty incredible properties, but Kenjockety topped them all. The possibilities were endless, so I hope that visitors will experience how impressive it really is. 

What are the “must-sees” you want visitors to explore and why? 

This is a really hard question to answer so I will limit myself to just three “must-sees”. Number three is the secret room in the second floor closet located at the end of the long hallway. It’s just a fun little bit of whimsy in such a formal home. Number two has to be the main staircase. Everytime I see it, it still takes my breath away and it’s punctuated by the changing leaves. And number one would be without a doubt the views — especially the 360 image from the dock. Please enjoy this last one, it took a lot of effort to get. Sunsets here have the ability to touch one’s soul. 

What’s the one thing you want visitors to take away after exploring your 3D tour? 

I want people to understand the history of Long Island’s grand properties. This is the land of The Great Gatsby, of the Algonquin Round Table, and of Theodore Roosevelt’s Sagamore Hill. It Inspired Whitman, and Pollock, gave Washington and Kerouac shelter, and inspired a young man from Oyster Bay to follow his dream of being a rock star and became the national treasure -- Billy Joel. Mainly, I want people to know that Kenjockety is just a piece of the tapestry of the story that is Long Island.

What are the benefits you realize with Matterport digital twins?

For real estate, the digital twin expands the reach of a property in a way that photos and even videos cannot. It gives sense of the space and understanding of life in the property without actually having to visit in person.

I have been an advocate of the Matterport platform since I saw my first tour. I am glad to see that the company has grown and look forward to its future and the possibilities. 

Do you have any plans to capture more 3D experiences?

In my new position as a Digital Marketing Specialist with Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace, I plan to use Matterport to create a more enriching online experience. Blending in-store shopping with e-commerce, engaging current customers, and attracting new ones. I will be using Mattertags to link to our e-commerce solutions, videos, and photos to educate and inspire.
