“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

– Martin Luther King, Jr.

Explore This! In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, take a few minutes to explore the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. The church’s most famous member, Martin Luther King, Jr., was baptized in this church as a child. Ebenezer Baptist remained a spiritual home to him as he became an ordained minister at the age of 19 and became a co-pastor of the church with his father, “Daddy” King, until his death in 1968. In 2001, restoration began to modernize and stabilize the historic church, with interior designs styled after the 1960s when King, Jr. served at the church. Walk through the aisles that were once filled with Georgians who came to listen to the sermons of Martin Luther King, Jr.
