Matterport Wins Gold in 10th annual Best in Biz Awards
Matterport for iPhone launch awarded Marketing Campaign of the Year
SUNNYVALE, Calif. — The Matterport for iPhone launch was named the gold winner for “Marketing Campaign of the Year” by the Best in Biz Awards for its creativity, uniqueness, and effectiveness. Best in Biz is the only independent business awards program judged each year by prominent editors and reporters from top-tier publications in North America.
“We launched our free 3D capture solution as a way to help keep businesses going during the pandemic,” said Robin Daniels, CMO of Matterport. “We also wanted to get it into the hands of people stuck at home as a way to help them stay connected – to invite those close to them back into their worlds virtually. The campaign increased Matterport’s subscriber base by more than 10x, far exceeding our expectations.”
Matterport pushed the launch of its Capture App for iPhone several months ahead of schedule for one important reason: to help keep the real estate and property industry moving forward during these challenging times when physical access to spaces and buildings of all kinds is severely limited. As a result, more buyers than ever are turning to 3D virtual tours to help them make a purchase decision without ever setting foot inside the property. But other trends quickly emerged with Matterport 3D virtual tours helping museums around the world stay open; insurance and restoration companies accelerate claims; property managers rent apartments, offices, and warehouses; and real estate professionals keep the housing market thriving with 24/7 open houses.
“In this wild year, it’s amazing to see companies still innovating, adapting, and thriving,” said Christopher Null at Wired, having judged seven of the last 10 Best in Biz Awards programs. “There’s so much in the business world that is inspirational right now.”
2020 marked the 10th annual Best in Biz Awards and – with a continuing global pandemic – was also a year like no other in the program’s 10-year history. Despite the global challenges, the 10th annual program saw a particularly strong field of entries from public and private companies of all sizes and spanning all geographic regions and industries in the U.S. and Canada, ranging from some of the most recognizable and admired global brands to the most innovative start-ups and nimble local companies – proving North American business’ resilience and continuing innovation and growth despite the odds.
The judges were impressed with this year’s winners’ agility and adaptability that allowed their businesses to thrive, their willingness to always go the extra mile to help their customers in these unusual times and particularly, many winners’ efforts to maintain their commitment to the environment and to prioritize helping others in their communities.
Since the program’s inception in 2011, winners in Best in Biz Awards have been determined based on scoring from independent judging panels assembled each year from some of the most respected newspapers, TV and radio outlets, and business, consumer, technology and trade publications in North America.
