Confidentiality Practices

Matterport has strict controls over access to Confidential Data made available by you to Matterport, as defined in your agreement with Matterport in Terms of Use (ToU) and Cloud Subscription Agreement (CSA). The protection of Customer Data is a top priority for us, so we will maintain administrative, physical, and technical safeguards at a level not materially less protective than as described in our ToU. Those safeguards will include measures for preventing unauthorized access, use, modification, deletion, and disclosure of Customer Data by our personnel. 

Matterport conducts background checks on all employees before employment, and employees receive training on privacy, confidentiality and information security as part of their onboarding as well as on an ongoing basis. All employees are required to read and sign our comprehensive information security policy covering the security, availability, and confidentiality of the Matterport services. Operation of Matterport SaaS solution and its support requires access to some employees for systems that store and process your data. For instance, to troubleshoot a problem you report to our customer support team regarding any Matterport solutions, we may need to access your data. Our employees are prohibited from using these privileges to view your data unless it is necessary to do so. Matterport has technical controls and audit policies in place to log such access to your data. Matterport has policies that govern access to your data, and all of our employees and contract personnel are bound to it. 

Matterport shares information with service providers to perform services on our behalf, in compliance with our Privacy Policy and other appropriate confidentiality and security measures. Before sharing Customer Data with any of our third-party service providers, we will ensure that the third party maintains, at a minimum, reasonable data practices for maintaining the confidentiality and security of Customer Data and preventing unauthorized access. 

Customer (not Matterport) bears sole responsibility for adequate security, protection, and backup of Customer Data when in Customer's or its representatives' or agents' possession or control. We are not responsible for what Customer's Authorized Users or Non-Matterport Products do with Customer Data. That is the Customer's responsibility.
