Capture for Android beta is finally here

Matterport Capture for Android is now available in the Google Play Store for Early Access (Beta). Try it today.

Matterport Capture app for Android is officially here!  Read the latest announcement.

From startups to the world’s largest companies, thousands of businesses use Matterport with their iOS devices. Our goal was always to make it easy for our customers--now in over 130 countries--to connect their favorite capture devices such as the Pro 2, BLK360, and 360 cameras to the Matterport platform using their iPhones and iPads. In May of this year, we announced Matterport for iPhone, which gave anyone the ability to capture and collaborate on 3D space using the phone in their pocket,  and resulted in a record number of signups and digital twin creation. Most recently, we announced our upcoming support for iPhone 12 Pro with LiDAR.

However, we knew we were missing something big--bringing Matterport to a broader swath of potential customers who weren’t on iOS but on Android. This became even more obvious as we expanded our footprint into Asia, Europe and Latin America. We heard our customers and partners loud and clear: support for Android would give them the ability to deploy their usage of the Matterport platform more widely and successfully.  So we’re excited to share that we are taking the first step in bringing the same level of 3D capture capabilities to Android devices starting with the public beta of Matterport Capture for AndroidBETA, now available in the Google Play Store as an Early Access app.

As you can expect, Capture for Android works in very much the same way as Capture for iPhone and iPad. Simply pair your Android compatible phone or tablet (see below for current supported devices) with your favorite 360 or Pro2 series camera, and you’ll be just a few steps away from being able to leverage our industry-leading 3D spatial capture and collaboration capabilities.

So try it today by installing the Capture for Android today from the Google Play store.
