Matterport’s Fall 2024 Release: Insights Meets Imagination
Matterport introduces essential new tools for real estate agents, contractors and designers.
Today, Matterport is proud to unveil a groundbreaking suite of new AI tools for real estate professionals to reshape the way real estate is designed, built, managed and marketed. As we hope you’ve experienced, Matterport has been evolving in recent years from a platform that captures the built world as it is to one that helps users unlock the future potential of a space—whether that’s a home, an office suite or a factory floor.
The next chapter of that evolution begins today with our Fall 2024 Release and the launch of six groundbreaking new features, each of which make work easier—not just for for real estate professionals but for leaders across industries—by solving real-life problems:
Defurnish
One of the most revolutionary additions in the Fall Release is Matterport’s AI-powered defurnish tool, designed to solve a common challenge for home sellers and agents: clutter. With a single click, users can now transform a cluttered living room or messy garage into a clean, open space—allowing potential buyers to visualize the home’s true potential. If you’ve ever been afraid to include a messy room in a virtual tour (say, a basement filled with random boxes and old, mismatched furniture), now you can “erase” those items and confidently show the whole house (without having to hire movers or rent a storage locker).
And coming soon…Matterport’s interior design tools will unlock creativity for everyone, letting users digitally furnish and redesign spaces with ease and offering a glimpse of what the future could hold.
Automatic Property Descriptions
The AI-powered property description tool is another game-changer, crafting detailed, engaging written descriptions in just seconds. Brokers can select the length, style and tone (ranging from informative to inspirational), ensuring each listing is perfectly custom-tailored—whether it’s a sleek, modern downtown loft or a charming suburban home. And by leveraging the precise spatial data of every digital twin, the tool creates content that is not only beautifully written but also accurate down to the last detail, saving hours of work and producing results that even seasoned experts will admire.
Merge
For large-scale properties, Matterport’s new Merge tool enables users to seamlessly “snap” together multiple digital twins, or even just pieces of them. Imagine creating a full digital model of an entire hotel, from pool to ballroom, or merging every floor of a high-rise office tower into one cohesive 3D tour of the building. Merge enables multiple team members to scan different sections of a property simultaneously and integrate them later, making it possible to capture and manage even the most expansive buildings quickly and efficiently. Once a seamless digital twin is created, keeping it up-to-date is easy by merging in just a few scans when things change versus having to recapture the entire property.
Field Tags
Field Tags further enhance the efficiency of on-site work by allowing users to add on-site observations and tags during the scanning process, even if they’re offline. No more repeat visits to capture missed details or delayed workflows waiting to add notes and observations—everything can be documented in real-time, ensuring accurate, comprehensive records of the space are captured at the moment they matter most. This feature keeps teams aligned and projects moving forward without unnecessary delays.
Automatic Bill-Back Reporting and End User Payment
Matterport introduces more transparency and convenience in payment and invoicing. Automatic bill-back reporting, a highly anticipated feature for enterprise customers, is a simple yet powerful solve that removes the headache of manual cost allocation. Now line item details for each invoice are automatically available every month. Then for further convenience, End User Payment allows organizations to equip users or even customers to pay for certain add-on orders like floorplans and more with their individual payment method at the time of order.
Advanced User Management with Custom Roles
Lastly, Matterport continues to elevate Enterprise capabilities with more flexibility and control in user management through Custom Roles. The feature empowers organizations to design and implement role-based access control that aligns with their unique workflow and business needs. Enterprises can now configure up to 25 distinct permission sets, granting granular control over key actions such as access by projects, allowing add-on purchases and more. Users and their custom roles can now be managed in bulk through user groups and at scale with public APIs. By automating and expanding access to critical aspects of the digital twin platform, Matterport reduces administrative burdens and empowers distributed teams to work efficiently and focus on what matters most.
