Flash Point
History is found in the bodies of the living. Excavating suppressed narratives with performance and video, Flash Point explores violence in relation to the contemporary body. A crew of selected performers led by Jefferson Pinder brings disperse historical locations and evens back into focus by re-enacting the turbulent events of the Red Summer of 1919. This exhibition of performance documentation reflects on the current racialized landscape and the poetics of trauma with the hope of inspiring dialogue about history and the potentiality to change it.
