Explore the Globeville Center — Where art and recreation meet

Taking a stroll through the Globeville Center in Denver, Colorado, isn't your usual gymnasium experience. Thanks to walls adorned with striking artwork, it's more like visiting a museum. Fortunately, you don't need to live in Colorado to experience it thanks to Mile High Panorama.

Using Matterport technology, Mile High Panorama specializes in bringing high-quality, immersive virtual tours online. To learn more about the Globeville Center 3D tour, we sat down with Mile High Panorama Owner and Matterport Capture Technician Steven Boyd.

What inspired the 3D capture of this space?

The inspiration behind 3D capturing this space is the influence of artwork and the different styles that come together cohesively, while collectively bringing the youth and community of Globeville closer through a recreational center run by Birdseed Collective and Anthony Garcia Jr.

What are the “must-sees” you want visitors to explore and why?

Anyone who visits the recreation center must see the gymnasium as it showcases various international and local artists, which can be inspiring for others who would love to pursue artistic endeavors of their own.

What’s the one thing you want visitors to take away after exploring your 3D tour?

After exploring this tour we would hope to spark creativity within someone who is interested in becoming an artist or wanting to learn more about the history and background of each artist within the space.

What are the benefits of Matterport digital twins?

There are countless benefits for Matterport digital twins. At Mile High Panorama, we primarily create digital twins of commercial and residential real estate. They allow visitors to not only virtually tour a space as if they were there, but they can also take measurements and view tags that can offer a richer experience than if someone visits a space in person. With images alone, it’s impossible to create a mental spatial map of how one room connects to another. Keeping this in mind when we create a digital twin, what separates us from a lot of other companies is the level of detail we provide. Not only by creating tags with images and links to videos but by meticulously placing the camera in various locations during the capture, thinking through how a visitor might want to walk through the space and the items they’d want to view.

Do you have any plans to capture more 3D experiences?

Yes! We’d love to be part of Matterport’s Capture Technician program so we can capture even more spaces and we’d have an excuse to get the Matterport Pro 3 camera. Beyond that, we don’t currently have any captures scheduled, but we’re always looking for new opportunities to digitize someone’s space.
