Built in 1926 as a silent movie theatre, the Lyric was an entertainment hotspot until the Great Depression when it closed down and the building was sold. It has changed ownership numerous times and has been occupied by various businesses in its life. In 2014, the theatre underwent extensive renovation to preserve the historic building and breathe new life into the Lyric, which is now an active venue. Enter through the remodeled lobby, complete with a new bar, glass door entrance, box office windows, and modern lighting. The 500-seat theatre still offers the intimate experience that has been treasured for decades, but with beautiful updates that make the space warm and inviting. Today, visitors can enjoy a variety of live events at the Lyric Theatre, from comedy tours and concerts, to broadway shows and circus acts.
