Take a walk on the wild side with Scaped Nature
UK Visual Immersion invites you to explore the beauty of the outdoors from the comfort of your own home.
In the hustle and bustle of a digitized world and city life, we often forget the importance of nature and how the natural world benefits our minds, bodies, and souls. Scaped Nature, a business specializing in “bringing nature indoors”, creates aquascapes and terrariums that perfectly mirror natural landscapes.
We caught up with Ryan Becker, the managing director of UK Visual Immersion, to learn more about how they used Matterport technology to encapsulate the essence of Scaped Nature’s store floor and make it accessible to people across the globe.
What inspired the 3D capture of this space?
I was able to visit the store in person and see its fantastic visual merchandising and product displays, as well as the amazing terrariums and moss walls that the team created. After that experience, I wanted to give the owners a way to promote their products on a bigger scale and reach a wider audience.
What are the “must-sees” you want visitors to explore and why?
The planted terrariums and moss art are definitely a must-see. It’s incredible to see the colors and authentic beauty that the team have created in tandem with nature. We embedded tutorial videos embedded in links which show users how to create their own terrariums. These are a must-watch, as beautiful as they are relaxing.
What’s the one thing you want visitors to take away after exploring your 3D tour?
Really innovative independent businesses like Scaped Nature are developing stunning brick-and-mortar stores that create truly unique, visceral customer experiences. By generating a virtual tour, these brands can extend their reach and welcome people from across the globe who might not otherwise have access to their products.
What are the benefits of Matterport digital twins?
The advantages of digital twins are threefold: The ability to experience places anywhere in the world (from anywhere in the world); easily swapping out links when a product changes to ensure the space is always up-to-date and relevant for the customer, and showcasing and highlighting richer content to the user through features such as tutorial videos.
Do you have any plans to capture more 3D experiences?
At UK Visual Immersion, we love working with new and upcoming, independent brands, as well as multinationals. We have lots of work with independent companies that are being launched this year, including a wonderful trilogy of shops from Peachaus. We’re also excited to be planning more work with businesses focused on nature, so we’ll be filming outside and seeing what the new Pro 3 camera can do.
Anything else you would like to add?
UK Visual Immersion is now producing digital brochures that are directly embedded with Matterport virtual tours, thereby allowing customers to explore product ranges in-depth, as well as “walking” around the physical store as if they were there … The perfect combination!
